Everyone is welcome to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Boston Athenaeum with a $40 day membership—available at the front desk or by filling out the form below.

Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to read, work, or simply unwind, you’ll find plenty of comfortable spots to settle in. Across our 12 floors, you’ll discover well-lit work tables, cozy reading nooks, reliable WiFi, stunning art and architecture, and beautiful views of the city.

Plus, if you fall in love with the space (and we think you will), your day pass fee can be applied toward an annual membership if you join within the same week.
