Annual Meeting of the Proprietors 2026
Monday, March 30, 2026 at 5:00 pm E.T.
The Annual Meeting of the Proprietors of the Boston Athenaeum and Boston Library Society will be held at 10 ½ Beacon Street on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 5:00 pm for the following purposes:
- To act upon the record of the previous meeting.
- To elect Officers and Trustees.
- To transact any further business that may properly come before the meeting.
In addition, Proprietors of the Boston Athenaeum will be asked at the meeting to approve an Agreement and Plan of Merger between the Boston Library Society and the Boston Athenaeum pursuant to which the Boston Library Society will be merged with and into the Boston Athenaeum. The merger has been approved by the Boards of Trustees of the Boston Athenaeum and of the Boston Library Society. Proprietors of the Boston Library Society will be asked to consider the Agreement and Plan of Merger at a later meeting.
There will be a reception following the meeting.

Proprietors who have paid their annual Assessment and are in good standing may vote.
Please use the link below to submit your RSVP and to submit your proxy vote. If you cannot attend the meeting, there will be an option to view the meeting virtually. Please submit any electronic proxy votes no later than the end of the day on Friday, March 27, 2026.
If you plan to attend in person, you do not need to submit an electronic proxy vote.
President Timothy W. Diggins and Director Leah Rosovsky will be taking questions during the meeting, but you may also submit questions and suggestions in advance through the same form linked below.
